UCx 4.5 to UCx 5.0 Upgrade Instructions

To upgrade your UCx Release 4.5 system to Release 5.0, perform the following steps:

Prior to starting the upgrade, you will need to request for a 5.0 license from E-MetroTel. See Request New Software License page for instructions to obtain a 5.0 license string.

This procedure will take approximately 45 minutes and will result in calls being disconnected!

Internet access from the UCx Server is required.

  1. Login to the Web Configuration Utility using the administrative login and password.
  2. Navigate to the System -> Updates page and perform a Software Update
  3. Navigate to System -> Backup/Restore page and perform a Backup, excluding Voicemails and Call Recordings.
  4. Navigate to the System -> Licenses -> Enter License page to Enter the new 5.0 License string.
  5. Navigate to the System -> Shutdown page and perform a Reboot
  6. Once the UCx Server is back online, login to the Web Configuration Utility using the administrative login and password.
  7. Navigate to the System -> Updates page and perform a Software Update (make sure all the packages are updated).
  8. Navigate to the PBX page and press the pink Apply Conf’ bar (if presented).
  9. Navigate to System -> Backup/Restore page and perform another Backup, excluding Voicemails and Call Recordings.
  10. Congratulations you have upgraded to the latest version of UCx.
