Lincoln Community Midwives was “born” October 1, 2012 as a sister practice to Niagara Midwifery Practice, which was the first practice in the Niagara Region giving families a choice between home birth and hospital. Having reliable phone service is critical to us and to our clients. Unfortunately our hosted service was regularly dropping phone calls creating unnecessary stress to our staff as well as the families in our community that depend on us to prepare them for the arrival of their newborn. We turned to Sideline Telephone Service who implemented an excellent phone system for us from E-MetroTel. The UCx was able to support the cisco phones that we had already purchased from our previous hosted provider, and we could choose from a variety of phones to meet the needs of our administrator. We chose a Yealink phone which works very well with the automated attendant features of the UCx. Sideline completed the installation flawlessly and are always available to provide support when needed. York Medical is dedicated to providing optimal health care services to the communities of Newmarket, East Gwillimbury and Richmond Hill. We provide comprehensive medical and preventive health care services. With our growing business, we needed to network our locations for Voice and also wanted to implement SIP trunking to reduce costs, especially in communication with our transcription service provider located in USA. Upgrading our Cisco solution was extremely expensive and ongoing management had been very cumbersome requiring login to multiple interfaces even for a simple addition of a phone. The Avaya solution we also considered required many additional fee-based licenses for SIP trunks and voice networking. We had several spare Cisco phones and wanted to preserve our investment in Cisco phones, if at all possible. We discussed our needs with our trusted partner Alpha Telecom who recommended the UCx platform from E-MetroTel. With the UCx, we were able to save a lot of money re-using our existing Cisco phones and were also able to implement Avaya 1230 phones and call queueing with IVR for staff members who were handling a lot of calls. They simply log in and out of their call queues on the Avaya 1230 phones which was not possible with the Cisco phones. UCx voicemail to email has simplified our transcription requirements and increased productivity with extension to extension dialing and call transfer between sites. We look forward to implementing the UCx WebRTC to further increase staff productivity. Another big benefit is the management of the UCx. The web based administration is very easy to use and with the UCx secure remote access, Alpha Telecom is able to be quickly make changes from anywhere at any time. The implementation with SIP trunks on the UCx has minimized our LD and as our business continues to grow we will be able to add more SIP trunks to the UCx without adding costly SIP trunk licenses. The team at Alpha Telecom implemented the UCx at two of our clinics flawlessly and their service is impeccable. We look forward to working with Alpha Telecom as we migrate our head office in 2017. “Founded in 1943, Family & Children’s Service (F&CS) is one of Nashville’s oldest and most venerated nonprofits. F&CS serves all people in crisis and transition by meeting them where they are, understanding their needs, and connecting them to the resources they need. F&CS offers a wide array of safety net services including a 24-hour crisis call line and a Health Assister line that helps un- and under-insured callers find health care and health coverage. Each year we provide direct services to more than 9,000 clients, and phone-based crisis, intervention, and referral services to another 30,000 Tennesseans. For these services to be effective we needed a reliable phone system. UCI Direct assisted us in replacing our old BCM with an UCx system from E-MetroTel.
