InfinityOne - Desktop Installation Guide

InfinityOne on your Mac, Windows, or Linux desktop is even better than InfinityOne on the web, with a cleaner look, tray/dock integration, native notifications, and support for multiple InfinityOne accounts.  In fact, because the desktop application will allow the calls to stay active even when the InfinityOne window is closed, E-MetroTel recommends using the desktop version for most deployments where users will likely be making calls.  The web based interface is still suitable for user where few or no calls are likely to occur, although because of the features like automatic log-in and native notifications, the desktop version offers superior overall user functionality.

E-MetroTel has made the installation of the desktop application simple and easy to perform by enabling it to be downloaded directly from the UCx Server.

Installing from the UCx

To install the InfinityOne client directly from the UCx using a web browser, enter 'https://' followed by the IP address or hostname of the UCx Server, then suffix with ' :21326/home/ '.
For example: https://192.168.1.200:21326/home/

Alternatively, InfinityOne can be accessed without the port number and appending a trailing ' /infinityone/home/ '.
For example: http://192.168.1.200/infinityone/home/

If this the user is not currently logged in to the InfinityOne server (either it is the first time they have connected using that broswer, or they logged out of any previous session), then the UCx will redirect the user to the sign-in page as follows:

After logging in, you will be re-directed to the Home page of the InfinityOne web interface.  If you were already logged in you will be taken to this page without requiring the previous log-in step.

From this page you can get an overview of InfinityOne and its features by exploring Helpful Links on this page.  However, to install the desktop application, click on either the The Desktop App or Desktop Apps link.

The UCx automatically detects your operating system environment and you will be presented with the InfinityOne download page specific to your operating system.

Click on the Download InfinityOne for Windows button and the application will be downloaded into your default download directory.  From there it can be installed using the same process as any other application in that operating system environment.  (If you are downloading to a Mac it will say "Download InfinityOne for MacOS" and for Linux the button will read "Download InfinityOne for Linux".
