Initial Configuration of Infinity Video Server System Settings

Logging in to the Infinity Video Server

The Infinity Video Server system uses the same Web-based Configuration Utility as the UCX. If you understand the basic navigation principles of the Web-based Configuration Utility for the UCX, then navigating through the Infinity Video Server system will be quite similar.
  1. Open a web browser to the Infinity Video Server by typing https://IPAddress as the url, where "IPAddress" is the address of the Infinity Video Server system
  2. Enter admin as the Username, with the default password of  emetr0tel
  3. If this is the first time you are logging into the system you will immediately be redirected to the System / Users page where you will be prompted to change the default password. Enter the current (default) password followed by a new password. You will need to enter the new password a second time for confirmation.  Then click Save.

Configure the Network

YOU MUST SKIP THIS SECTION if you have an AWS-based system!
  1. Once that it done, you may wish to change the Network settings on your Infinity Video Server by navigating to the System / Network page.
  2. Click on the Ethernet 0 link under Device. E-MetroTel recommends changing the interface to a Static setting.
  3. Add the entries for the Gateway, Primary DNS, and Secondary DNS and then click Save
  4. You will be prompted with a warning to confirm your change of the network parameters. Note that if you have changed the actual IP address of the VM then you will need to reconnect your browser to that IP address and log in again.

Update the system software

As with all E-MetroTel products, it is recommended that the system be updated prior to beginning any system activation, license retrieval, or configuration.

  1. Navigate to the System / Updates page and click on Check for Updates
  2. The system will indicate that it is checking for updates, as it may take a few minutes
  3. After it has identified a list of updates that are available, click on Update Software
  4. You will be notified that the updated has been started. DO NOT turn off or reboot the system while it is updating.
  5. You will receive another notification when the update is complete. You will notified if a restart is necessary to complete the process.

Activating and Licensing the Infinity Video Server system

Currently during the trial process, this is handled manually.

When the system is first installed it will be unlicensed. The Web-based Configuration Utility will display a banner indicating there is an Invalid License.

The following steps are required to be completed before you can use the Infinity Video Server system:
  1. Purchase a license through Quotations and Ordering on the E-MetroTel Partner Portal
  2. Use the System Activation page to activate the system
  3. Use the Enter License page to retrieve the license

Once you have retrieved the license, you will the following message in the Web-based Configuration Utility display:

In the License Details page you will see the Maximum Participants that the license enables on the system.  If this needs to be increased you will be required to repeat steps 1 to 3 above.
Note that there is no limit to the number of concurrent video conferences, only in the total number of participants that are allowed across all the current video conferences. Once that number is reached, the system will not allow any additional participants to join any of the existing video conferences or initiate a new one.
