Transfer
There are three types of call transfer: Attended transfer and Asterisk Blind transfer, and Asterisk Attended transfer.
- Attended transfer is used when a discussion is needed with the party receiving the call transfer. During the discussion, the other party is connected to Music On Hold.
- Asterisk Blind transfer is used when there is no need to consult with the party receiving the call transfer.
- Asterisk Attended transfer is used when there may be a need to have all three parties connected prior to transfering the call.
To Transfer an active call using Attended Transfer

1. Dial *2 , the system prompt will say "transfer" and present dial tone. 2. Enter the extension you want to transfer the call to. 3. You can consult with the other party first before transferring the call. 4. Hang-up the call to complete the transfer. |
The original caller is placed on hold while you are transferring the call. |
Phones with Transfer softkey set to Attended Transfer |
1. Press the Transfer softkey. 2. Enter the other number you want to call and press the Call softkey. 3. When the other party answers, you can consult with the other party first. 4. To connect the other party with the original caller press the Transfer softkey. |
The original caller is placed on hold while you are transferring the call. |
To Transfer an active call using Blind Transfer

1. Press the Transfer softkey. 2. Enter the extension you want to transfer the call to. When the call begins ringing on the other set the original party will be connected directly to the extension you just dialed. |
To Transfer an active call using Asterisk Attended Transfer

1. Dial *2 , the system voice prompt will say "transfer" and present dial tone. 2. Enter the extension you want to transfer the call to. 3. Once the extension is dialed you can perform the following actions: a) complete the transfer by pressing *2 or by hanging up b) conference both parties into a three-way conference by pressing *3. Any party may hang up to exit the conference. c) swap between the two calls by pressing *4. You may cancel the transfer and return to the original caller by pressing *5. d) You can cancel the transfer using *5 |

1. Press the Transfer softkey. 2. Enter the extension you want to transfer the call to.and press the Call softkey. 3. Once the extension is dialed you can perform the following actions via softkeys: a) complete the transfer by pressing Transfer or by hanging up b) conference both parties into a three-way conference by pressing Conference. Any party may hang up to exit the conference. c) swap between the two calls by pressing *4. You may still use the Transfer, Conference, and Cancel keys. d) cancel the transfer process by pressing the Cancel softkey and you will be reconnected to the original far-end party |

To Transfer an active call to Voicemail Box

The Voicemail Direct Dial Prefix #* value can be changed by the system administrator. |
