1. Accessing Phone Menu

There are two ways to access the phone menu. The default password to use is admin or 363870835.

Method 1: During Bootup

During the boot up process, when the E-MetroTel logo is displayed, you have 5 seconds to press the 4 softkeys from left to right in sequence. The display will prompt for the password.

Method 2: Hold button

When the phone is idle, double press the Hold  button to access the phone menu.

2. Phone Menu Layout

Status Information Displays the Phone model, IP address, MAC address, Firmware loads etc.
Server Server Information To configure the UCx server information.
AP Firmware Upgrade To configure the firmware mode and firmware server path.
Network WAN Port To configure WAN port mode, IPv4 and IPv6 settings.
PC Port To configure PC Port as: Bridge, Router or Connect to Expansion Module
Vlan To configure Vlan settings.
Webserver To disable/enable web interface access and type.
802.1x Enable/disable 802.1 mode.
VPN Enable/disable VPN.

LLDP Enable/disable LLDP and settings.

3. Common Usage

3.1 Status - Information

This page is typically used to determine the IP address assigned to the phone. Also useful to obtain the MAC address of the phone for configuration in the UCx.

3.2 Server - Server Information

Configuring the UCx Server IP address and Port number is a MUST for any XSTIM phone.
This is the first page to enter when configuring an XSTIM phone for the very first time.

3.3 AP - Firmware Upgrade

This page is used to configure the firmware and configuration server addresses and also to toggle between SIP and XSTIM firmware mode.

3.4 Network - Webserver

By default, the web interface to the phone should be enabled. However if you have trouble accessing the web interface, check this page to ensure the Webserver setting is NOT disabled.

3.5 Network - PC Port

By default, the PC port is set to Bridge mode. Using the PC port to connect to the expansion module 5046 is currently not supported.

3.6 Factory - Factory Function

Functions on this page are meant for factory testing of the phone.

Function Description
Audio Loopback Test speaker, handset and headset audio, plus color display of the LED lamp.
Diagnostic Mode Test all hardware keys.
Test Keys Test all keys - similar to Diagnostic Mode.
Special Voice Test Test sound quality of the phone.
Lcd Color Test LCD color.
Audio Loopback
1. Press lef/tright arrow navigation key to turn on the audio loopback test, speak into handsfree microphone.
- All key LEDs, power LED and mute button turn RED.
- Handsfree speaker echoes what is spoken into microphone.
2. Pick up handset and speak into the transmitter.
- All key LEDs, power LED, headset and message buttons turn GREEN.
- Handset receiver echoes back what is spoken into transmitter.
3. Replace handset into cradle. Press headset button,
- All key LEDs turn orange, power LED turns GREEN/RED.
- Message and headset buttons turn GREEN and mute button turns RED.
4. Press talk button on headset and speak into headset microphone.
- Headset earpiece echoes back what is spoken into microphone.
5. Press lef/right arrow navigation key to exit test.
Diagnostic Mode
1. Press lef/tright arrow navigation key to turn on diagnostic mode.
- All key LEDs, message, headset and speaker buttons turn GREEN.
2. Press any key on the phone and the corresponding function for the key is displayed on the LCD screen.
3. Press the centre OK navigation key to exit the test.
Test Keys
1. Press the Start softkey to start the test.
- All key LEDs, message, headset and speaker buttons turn GREEN.
- LCD screen displays all the available key labels.
2. Press all keys on the phone one at a time.
- As each key is pressed, the corresponding label on the LCD is removed from the display.
3. Pick up and replace handset
- This action removes the last 2 labels on the display screen and completes the test.
Special Voice Test
1. Press the Start softkey to start the test.
- A sequence of tones is played over the speaker.
2. Press the Stop softkey to end the test.
Lcd Color
1. Press the Start softkey to start the test.
- Horizontal strips of colour are displayed on the LCD: white, red, orange, yellow, green, light blue, blue, purple
2. Press the X button to end the test.

3.7 Sleep Mode

The Sleep Mode feature provides protection to the LCD screen by putting the screen to sleep when the phone is not in used. The feature is enabled by default, and it is highly recommended to keep the feature enabled to extend the life of the LCD screen.

The sleep mode activates after a certain period of inactivity, this timeout period has 2 settings:

  • Office Hour Timeout - timeout period in minutes during office hours (default 60 minutes)
  • Free Hour Timeout - timeout period in minutes after office hours (default 10 minutes)

The Office hours are configurable from Monday to Sunday, accepted values are from 00 to 23. (Default is 07 - 21)
 


3.8 Bluetooth

Bluetooth can only be activated and paired from the phone interface.

The 5010W phone supports a wide range of bluetooth headsets that are compatible with Bluetooth specification V4.0 and backwards compatible with 1.1, 1.2, 2.0 and 3.0.

To activate bluetooth:

  1. From the Phone Menu, select Bluetooth submenu
  2. Change Bluetooth setting to On, then press the Save softkey.
  3. The bluetooth icon will be displayed on the top bar of the LCD screen.
  •  - icon when not connected
  •  - icon when connected

To pair headset:

  1. From the bluetooth headset, initiate pairing mode. (Refer to the user guide of the headset.)
  2. From the 5010W phone menu, Bluetooth submenu, press the Scan softkey.
  3. The phone starts searching for bluetooth devices within the working range of 32 feet.
  4. All detected bluetooth devices will be displayed.
  5. Select the desired device and press the Connect softkey.

With the Bluetooth headset paired, you can do the following:

  • Press the Volume key (+) on the Bluetooth headset to increase the volume.
  • Press the Volume key (-) on the Bluetooth headset to decrease the volume.
  • Press the multifunction key on the Bluetooth headset to answer or end a call.

3.9 WiFi

WiFi can only be turned on from the phone interface. The web interface is only used to configure the SSID and password when Mode is set to Provision.

The 5010W phone supports network connection via WiFi. The WiFi option is available only when the network cable is unplugged.

To enable Wifi using MANUAL mode

  1. From the Phone Menu, select WiFi submenu.
  2. Set the Mode to Manual and press the Enter soft key.
  3. Toggle WiFi to On.
  4. Navigate to Available Network(s) and press the Scan soft key.
  5. Navigate to the desired network and press the Connect soft key.

To enable Wifi using PROVISION mode

  1. From the Phone Menu, select WiFi submenu.
  2. Set the Mode to Provision and press the Enter soft key. (When Mode is set to Provision, you can also configure the settings from the phone's web interface.)
  3. Toggle WiFi to On.
  4. Fill in all the required information and press the Save soft key.
  5. Exit the phone menu.

When WiFi is enabled and connected, the WiFi icon  is displayed at the top of the LCD display screen.
