DG - Onboard Hardware
The UCX Digital Gateway is equipped with four analog station interfaces (ports). If you want to connect analog devices (e.g., an analog phone) to your UCx Digital Gateway, you have to enable these interfaces.
To enable analog station ports on your UCx Digital Gateway, perform the following steps:
- Open the UCx Digital Gateway Web-based Configuration Utility
- From the Gateway tab, select Onboard Hardware
- From the Enabled FXS Ports drop-down list box, select the desired number of analog ports that are to be enabled and press the Save Changes button to update the system configuration.
Identification of Analog Station Ports
Telephone sets connected to the Digital Gateway are identified on your UCx server by a device ID. For analog station ports, this ID is created by combining the analog port number (A1, A2, A3 and A4) with the system ID of your BCM system. For example, if your Digital Gateway system ID is 001122334455, the analog station ports on the system would use the following IDs:
Analog Station Port |
ID |
---|---|
1 |
A1:11:22:33:44:55 |
2 |
A2:11:22:33:44:55 |
3 |
A3:11:22:33:44:55 |
4 |
A4:11:22:33:44:55 |
Note: If you previously enabled analog ports but no longer use them, it is recommended to change the number of enabled interfaces to the number that you actually use. Doing so saves system resources that can be used when making calls.
