License Transfer Policy

In the event of a failed UCX appliance or a platform change, under certain conditions  identified below E-MetroTel will transfer the licenses to a new system. Licenses cannot be transferred between customers per E-MetroTel End User License Agreement.

For a failed UCX appliance (with confirmation by E-MetroTel support team and associated ticket number), or for a platform change, E-MetroTel will provide a temporary license to enable the Reseller to restore or migrate the End User to a new UCX until the License Transfer process is complete.

For platform changes (change to / from UCX appliance, UCX software instance or UCX  Cloud), contact your E-MetroTel Business Development prime to your specific customer requirements and obtain the current per extension cost for license transfer*.

 

Requirements for UCX Appliance Software
Active Warranty and
Active Software Support
Follow RMA Policy for UCX return and Sparing policy for customer restore.
Permanent license transferred* on receipt of failed UCX.
Zero license Class B system returned.
Remaining Software Support and Warranty transferred to returned Class B system.
Active Warranty and
Expired Software Support
Follow RMA Policy for UCX return and Sparing policy for customer restore.
Purchase Software Support, minimum 12 months plus reinstatement.
Permanent license transferred* on receipt of failed UCX.
Zero license Class B system returned.
Remaining Warranty transferred to returned Class B system.
Expired Warranty and
Active Software Support
Reseller PO for new UCX.
Return failed UCX to E-MetroTel; no Class B system returned.
Transfer active Software Support and purchase extension for minimum total 12 months to align with Warranty term.
Permanent license transferred* on receipt of failed UCX.
Expired Warranty and
Expired Software Support
Reseller PO for new UCX.
Return failed UCX to E-MetroTel; no class B system returned.
Purchase Software Support, minimum 12 months plus reinstatement.
Permanent license transferred* on receipt of failed UCX.

Active Software Support
Purchase new Appliance/ UCX Software.
Transfer* active Software Support and purchase extension for minimum total 12 months.
Re-image previous appliance OR deactivate UCX Software instance.
Warranty remains with original appliance.
Permanent license transferred* to new UCX platform when previous UCX appliance has been re-imaged OR UCX Software instance has been deactivated.
Active Warranty and
Expired Software Support
Purchase new Appliance/ UCX Software.
Purchase Software Support, minimum 12 months plus reinstatement.

Permanent license transferred* to Cloud UCX instance when previous UCX has been re-imaged OR UCX Software deactivated..
