UCX 6.0 End-of-Support
UCX 7.0 was released for General Availability in 2022, introducing significant changes to the UCX. One of the key changes was updating the base operating system and telephony framework to enable them to keep pace with on-going updates, including those that address security. In contrast, UCX 6.0 contains a number of components that no longer receive any support by the open source community. Release 7.0 also broadens the UCX evergreen capabilities to include support for many Panasonic IP and digital telephones, supports InfinityOne Release 4.0 software, and brings additional feature, security, and configuration enhancements to both the UCX and InfinityOne. These new capabilities are identified in the UCX 7.0 and InfinityOne 4.0 General Availability bulletin.
With the success and wide-spread deployment of our UCX Release 7.0, E-MetroTel is announcing December 31, 2023 as the End-of-Support date for UCX 6.0 software. After that date, E-MetroTel will no longer provide remote support or software updates to any systems that have not been updated.
E-MetroTel highly recommends that customer systems be updated to Release 7.0 as soon as possible. Please refer to Release 7.0 Update Process for comprehensive upgrade instructions including a description of which platforms can be updated.
