Do not operate the system without the cover for a duration exceeding five minutes.
It is recommended that you always use a static mat and static strap while working on components in the interior of the system.
Step One: Getting the UCx450 ready

Turn off the system and attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the electrical outlet.

Rotate the latch release lock counter clockwise to the unlocked position.

Hold the cover on both sides, pressing your thumbs on the latch release lock and the indent, slide the cover toward the back of the system.

Lift the cover away from the system.
Step Two: Replacing the Hard Drive
Removing the Hard-drive Cage

Disconnect the power and data cables from the hard drive.

Pull the release pin, slide the hard-drive cage away from the chassis wall.
-
Lift the hard-drive cage away from the chassis.
Replacing the Hard Drive

Remove the screws from the side of the 3.5 inch hard-drive cage.
-
Remove the hard drive from the hard-drive cage.
-
Insert the new hard drive into the hard-drive cage.
-
Align the screw holes on the hard drive with the screw holes on the hard-drive cage.

Install the screws to secure the new hard drive to the hard-drive cage.
Installing the Hard-drive Cage

Align the slots on the hard-drive cage with the standoffs on the chassis. Slide the hard-drive cage toward the chassis wall until it snaps into place.

Re-connect the power and data cables to the hard drive.
Step Three: Closing the System

Place the cover onto the chassis and offset it slightly toward the back of the system so that it aligns with the notches and lays flush on the chassis.

Slide the cover toward the front of the chassis until it locks in position.

Rotate the latch release lock in a clockwise direction to secure the cover.

Reconnect the system to the electrical outlet and turn the system on, including any attached peripherals..
