Conference

The Conference page allows you to view and manage your conference bridges.

To display a list of conference bridges, perform the following steps:

  1. Open the UCx Web-based Configuration Utility
  2. From the PBX tab, select Conference

Adding a New Conference

To add a new conference, press the New Conference button and you will be directed to the Conferences page.

Editing a Conference

All configured conferences are listed on this page. To edit an existing conference, click on the corresponding Edit link and you will be directed to the Conferences page.

Managing a Conference

To manage a conference, click on the corresponding Manage link, current conference participants (if any) are shown on the page.

To invite a participant to join the conference, select the extension from the drop down list box and press the Invite Caller button to call the extension.
Once the user answers the call, the extension is added to the conference.

If voicemail answers the call, the party would still be added to the conference. You can use the Dismiss button as described below to remove such a participant.

To mute a participant during the conference, check the corresponding checkbox in the Mute column and then press the Mute button. To unmute a participant, uncheck the corresponding checkbox and press the Mute button.

To remove a participant from the conference, check the corresponding checkbox in the Dismiss column, and then press the Dismiss button.  If you wish to remove all parties from the conference, you can use the Dismiss All button at the top.


For software releases 4.5 and up, this page will automatically refresh every 15 seconds.

To allow moderators access to this page to manage conferences, it is recommended that you create a separate group and user accounts for moderators, the moderator group should only have access to this page and not the other system admin pages. See Users and Groups page for details.

 

Joining a Conference

There are three ways for a participant to join a conference:

  1. The conference owner/moderator can invite the participant using the conference management page as described above
  2. The participant can dial into the conference directly using the conference number
  3. The participant can dial into the conference using the Conference Login feature code
Conference Login Feature Code

To dial into the conference using the Conference Login feature code, perform the following steps:

  1. Dial the Conference Login code 5555 (this is the default value)
  2. Once prompted, enter the conference number and press #
To allow external callers to dial into conferences, you can add an option to your IVR that sends calls to Feature Code Admin - Conference Login destination.
The Conference Login code  is configurable in the Feature Codes page under PBX Configuration.
