Device Configuration

The Device Configuration tab is used to set defaults appropriate for the types of devices being supported via the DSM16 connection. The screen varies depending on whether you have a DSM16 Module (standalone) or the DSM16P Card (plugs into Galaxy Expand or Galaxy Express chassis).

Device Configuration tab - DSM16 Module

The DSM16 Module only supports Norstar/BCM digital sets. Therefore, the Device Configuration tab only displays settings that are appropriate for the Norstar/BCM sets. To adjust any of these settings:

  1. Open the UCx Digital Station Module Web-based Configuration Utility
  2. From the Gateway tab, select Device Configuration and adjust the settings as required
  3. If you wish to return to the original settings, click Defaults
  4. Once you have made the desired changes, press Save Changes

When you switch from Norstar/BCM to M1/CS1000 settings you must be sure that you have disconnected the Norstar/BCM sets from the amphenol interface on the module before applying changes as the power levels on the M1/CS1000 settings can cause damage to Norstar/BCM sets.

If you switch from Norstar/BCM to M1/CS1000 and click Save Changes, you will be presented with a warning screen:

Once you have ensured that all Norstar/BCM sets have been disconnected, press OK.
