The Analog Menu provides access to Channel Settings, Pickup, Dial Matching Table, Advanced, Special Function Keys, FXS, and Driver tabs.
On the Channel Settings page, you will find a summary of the the 16 ports, including the Port Number, Type, the assigned Sip Account, the Onhook/Offhook status, and Hourly and Daily Call/Answer counts and Call Status, as well as an Editing tool. Refer to the FXS 16-port Card - Extension Configuration Process documentation for how to configure the ports for UCX operation.
For most applications, the Pickup setting should remain Off. However, if you want to configure one or more analog phones with a "Hotline" capability similar to that used on E-MetroTel XSTIM devices, the Pickup feature should be enabled. When enabled, the system will automatically dial (autodial) the set of digits configured in the settings.
The following example demonstrates these rules:
This table is used to configure the dial string recognition patterns used for initiating SIP calls from the FXS 16-port Card and the UCX software. Refer to the FXS 16-port Card - Extension Configuration Process documentation for how to configure the Dial Matching Table for UCX operation. However additional lines can be added to allow specific dial plan entries to send the digits to the UCX after any particular group of digits has been dialed. For example, if the company uses 4 digit extensions all beginning with the numbers 21, create an entry such as _21XX, and calls to extensions will be processed as soon as the 4 digits have been collected. Similarly, an entry of _911 will cause emergency dialing to be sent immediately after the second 1 digit has been dialed. Any other emergency service numbers should also be programmed in this table.
The Advanced tab controls the Tones and Cadence settings.Set the Country setting to North America or to the region corresponding to where the FXS 16-port Card is being installed.
These settings should remain OFF.
The default FXS settings can be used in most scenarios. If you know that your analog telephone set is capable of accepting CallerID prior to the start of ringing (i.e. the modem is always on) then you may want to set the Pattern of sending CallerID to "send CID before ringing".
Ensure that the Codec is set to Ulaw and that the Impedance is set for your region.
